Study Shows THC Restores Cognitive Brain Function

The following study is filled with medical terminology that many might not be familiar with. But translated, it states that THC restores cognitive brain function. Its been found to actually reverse the effects of old age & senility in test subjects.

THC is just one of over 100 cannabinoids that have been identified in marijuana. And it just happens to be the cannabinoid thats also responsible for producing the euphoric high associated with marijuana consumption.

THC has been credited with the creation of new neurons, the brain connections that processes information. When neuron activity slows, so does the thought process. THC forms new neuron connections that speeds up the thought process.

David Disalvo, contributor at Forbes wrote another interesting a take on this study. In it, he quotes Professor Andreas Zimmer, one of the studies authors as stating the following

“With increasing age, the quantity of the cannabinoids naturally formed in the brain reduces,”

“When the activity of the cannabinoid system declines, we find rapid aging in the brain.”

“It looked as though the THC treatment turned back the molecular clock.”
