Representatives Introduce Bill To Legalize Marijuana At Federal Level
On February 20, 2015 Representatives Jared Polis (D-CO) and Earl Blumenauer (D-OR) introduced two bills that if passed will legalize marijuana tax it at the federal level. H.R. 1013 is called the Regulate Marijuana Like Alcohol Act, and would remove cannabis from the DEAs list of controlled substances. H.R. 1014, the Marijuana Tax Revenue Act of 2015, would legalize marijuana and impose a tax on non medical mj at the federal level.
More than 2/3 of the country now lives in an area that permits some form of marijuana use, whether medical or recreational. We are fast approaching the tipping point and with so many similar bills being floated around the states its just a matter of when, not if prohibition will come to a grinding halt. My guess would be sooner rather than later!
